A 33-year old man has been charged with the Boxing Day murder of Nicholas Dill in Warwick.

In a court room swarming with Police officers on Friday, Andre Kirk Hypolite appeared before Magistrate Edward King accused of murder, unlawfully wounding Dill?s friend Stacy Ann Pike and the possession of an offensive weapon.

Hypolite, who is represented by Larry Scott, was not required to plead to the three counts in the lower court and was remanded into custody until January 28.

Mr. Dill was stabbed to death on Boxing Day morning at his home on Pearman?s Hill, while Ms Pike was treated in hospital later that day for a deep gash in her skull, allegedly inflicted with a machete.

Police were involved in a three-day hunt for the suspect, involving 40 officers at it?s peak.

Hypolite was finally apprehended just off Middle Road in Southampton on December 29.

The family of Mr. Dill was awaiting the release of the body from the coroner and have not yet set a date for burial.
