A 39-year-old Devonshire man yesterday denied stealing over $10,000 from the Bank of Butterfield by pretending to be his brother.

Stephen Dill pleaded not guilty to six charges in Magistrates' Court including using a falsified voter registration card and stealing $10,030 between October 15 and December 12 of last year.

He also denied cashing forged withdrawal forms in the amounts of $500 and $1,200 at the Bank of Butterfield by signing the name of his brother Kevin Dill, on October 15 and 16, 2003, and of giving false information to a person in public service

Crown counsel Shade Subair alleged that Dill used his brother's identification to gain a false voter's registration card from the office of the Parliamentary Registrar.

Dill was granted bail of $5,000 and will be tried on February 13.
