A St. George's man has been fined $500 after pleading guilty to receiving three stolen credit cards.

Troy O'Neill Robinson, 34, of Anchorage Lane, admitting possessing the cards taken from a Paget home between January 7 and 8 this year.

Robinson was picked up later on another matter and the Easy Link, Visa Credit Card and Trimingham's charge card were found on him. The court heard $1,245 had been taken out on the cards but only $45 was recovered.

Crown Counsel Cindy Clarke said Robinson had more than 30 similar convictions. Robinson apologised to the court and said he had taken the money to support his children.

However, Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves said: "I don't accept children as an excuse. He was doing this well before they were around."

He pointed out that Robinson owed more than $6,000 in child support and ordered him to be taken in front of Family Court Acting Magistrate Tyrone Chin before fining him $500 for the credit card offence.

Robinson will also appear for trial on January 25 after denying burgling a Southampton home on Christmas Eve and taking cash, glasses, a cell phone and other items worth $413.
