A Warwick man arrested following the mass brawl on Front Street on New Year's Day denied swearing at Police officers - then cursed at them.
Phillip Richardson, 25, was told by Police Support Unit officers trying to disperse crowds after the fight to move onto the sidewalk, but he refused, Crown counsel Koshea Scott told Magistrates Court yesterday.
Richardson continued to talk to a man on a motorcycle and told an officer: "I know my rights. I ain't cursed. I ain't said f**k. F**k you."
Richardson, who admitted using offensive words and was fined $250, told Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves: "Sorry. I think I'll stay home next year."
