Man told to pay compensation after damaging car

Senior Crown counsel Paula Tyndale said the complainant?s son was driving the vehicle on Spicewood Drive, Warwick, when he thought he heard the defendant make a comment.

The court heard the car stopped and reversed and this was when Simmons picked up a piece of wood from the yard and threw it at the vehicle. This caused nearly $400 damage to the back fender and door. Simmons, 42, of Spicewood Drive, admitting the damage charge from March 13 last year and apologised to the court.

He was fined $300 and ordered to pay $390 compensation to the complainant by magistrates yesterday.
