A mother and her son pleaded not guilty in Magistrates? Court yesterday after allegedly fighting and attacking Police on New Year?s Eve.

Cathy Annette Ingemann, 44, was charged with six counts of obstructing Police, assaulting two Police officers, unlawfully damaging a Police uniform, violently resisting arrest and using offensive words.

The Smith?s parish woman was arrested along with her son, Justin Dane Ingemann, who was charged with unlawfully causing grievous bodily harm to Robert Malcolm Wilkinson ? the reason the Police had attended the Kilderry Estate disturbance on December 31.

The 21-year-old man, who lives in St. George?s, is also charged with violently resisting arrest and assaulting a Police officer with the intending to prevent his arrest.

Yesterday, Cathy Ingemann told Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves: ?He?s guilty for defending his mother, at the end of the day.?

The pair were bailed at $2,500 each both with a like surety to appear for trial on February 11.

Teen admits assault

A teenager pleaded guilty in Magistrates? Court to unlawfully causing bodily harm to a 13-year-old during a dispute at school.

The court heard that on January 27 last year, Stephanie Hollis, who was 15-years-old at the time, called over another CedarBridge Academy student as she attempted to leave the school.

Hollis confronted the 13-year-old girl and when Hollis didn?t like the answer the girl gave her she pushed the victim in her face. The young girl attempted to protect herself and a fight ensued.

She received scratches to her face including a 1 cm superficial wound to her forehead as well as swelling to her cheekbone. She suffered double vision in her eye and the vision in her right eye is now impaired.

When asked by Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves if she had anything to say for her actions, Hollis replied: ?I just...I beat her up.?

A social inquiry report was requested and Hollis was released on $1,000 bail with like surety.
