Pair taken to hospital after cars collide
A man and woman were taken to hospital after a crash between two cars in Middle Road, Southampton, on Saturday morning.
The vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when they collided near the junction with Lighthouse Hill at 10 a.m.
The 49-year-old female driver of one of the cars, from Southampton, suffered a bruised shoulder and cut knee. She was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and later discharged.
The passenger of the other car, a 24-year-old Sandys man, suffered head and facial injuries. He was in a stable condition on a general ward at the hospital last night.
The driver of the second car was not injured but both vehicles were badly damaged. Traffic was diverted from the scene by Police for about three hours. Witnesses should call P.c. Samaroo on 234-1010.
