Regiment CO selection in 'final stages'

The selection process for appointing Bermuda Regiment?s new commanding officer is in its ?final stages?. Lieutenant Colonel Eddie Lamb, the Regiment?s current CO, is due to end his tenure in May after a four-year stint in charge.

A Regiment spokesman said that senior majors within the Regiment had already been interviewed to replace him.

Public relations officer Major Wayne Smith told : ?It?s customary for the commanding officer to serve a term and his term is up.

?All the senior majors are interviewed and ideally a successor is chosen from the pool of majors. Interviews have happened. The process is well under way and, by all accounts, in the final stages. I?m sure that the announcement will be made in due course.? The Regiment?s promotions board, in conjunction with the Governor, will announce the name of Lt. Col. Lamb?s successor before May.
