An 18-year-old man was clinging to life in King Edward VII Memorial Hospital last night after an early morning bike crash Sunday in Somerset.

The Royal Gazette was told the young man is on a ventilator and remained critical condition in the intensive care unit last night.

The crash occurred at 12:40 a.m. Sunday when the man collided with an eastern pillar near the English Sports Shop while travelling east on Mangrove Bay Road.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident to contact PC Ferdinand Thorne at 299-4265.

A full investigation is underway.
