St. George?s town manager Lance Furbert has hit out at critics of the Crown and Anchor display on St. David?s roundabout which has been targeted by vandals.

The large dice were torn off their stands recently but Mr. Furbert said parks department staff had spent a lot of time on the display.

He said: ?That was a project the men themselves of the parks department eastern gang did. They worked very hard. I understand they might not have been a suitable symbol for everybody.?

But he said the display was a vast improvement on the ?bunch of out of hand yucca? which was there previously.

?It?s a great shame people can?t be more understanding. I don?t know why people take the time to complain about these things,? said Mr. Furbert.
