US carriers cause Internet problems

The internet problems experienced by Logic Communications customers yesterday were said to have been caused by its US carriers.

Internet service provider (ISP) Logic Communications chief executive officer Jeff Hamill said when the problems began, they immediately changed to another carrier.

“The problems were not with Logic, but with our US carriers,” said Mr. Hamill.

“They were spotted in the morning and we were able to rectify it very quickly. We have multiple carriers, so we were able to quickly recover. There were a couple of providers in the US with problems.”

Mr. Hamill said he believed that the problem was not only with Logic, as he knew of at least one other ISP that dealt with one of the companies that was experiencing problems yesterday.

Mr. Hamill said he had not received a post-mortem on why it happened, but said: “It has not impeded our ability to deliver service at this time.”
