A 36-year-old woman was mugged outside her Melville Road, Devonshire home.

The woman got out of her car and began walking to her front door when she saw a man walking towards her.

He demanded her purse, but she clutched it under her arm and shouted for her husband.

The man pushed her to the ground and after a struggle ran off with her purse.

The incident happened around 11.45 p.m. on Monday.The suspect is white, 5ft 6in-5ft 7in tall, and of slim build. He was wearing a dark blue or dark green shirt with the number five on it and light coloured pants.

The purse contained $110, an Ericsson cell phone, and personal items.
