A drink driver has been fined $1,000 after nearly crashing his bike into a stationary car in Hamilton.
Traffic Police spotted the near-miss involving Gavin Christian Wilkinson's bike at the junction of Burnaby Street and Front Street on March 10, just before 10.30 p.m. The car had stopped at the junction.
The defendant was stopped and officers noticed his speech was slurred and his breath smelled strongly of alcohol, Crown counsel Cindy Clarke told the court.
Wilkinson, 34, of Princess Estate Road, Pembroke, admitted driving while impaired. He was fined $1,000 and banned from driving all vehicles for one year.
