A fresh start

When the Bermuda College opened its doors for another academic year on Tuesday, College student body president Kenneth Brangman advised the new students to think of the day as a new start.

Administrators, lecturers and current students would all be well advised to do that as the College tries to put the public turmoil of the last two years behind it.

Now the college has a new leadership team consisting of interim President Michael Orenduff and Vice President Larita Alford and they deserve the support of the whole community as the College must get back to its real business - helping Bermuda's young (and the not so young who have bravely chosen to improve their academic standing and qualifications) people to fulfil their potential.

For those who have just left school and for those who are returning to school, their time at the College should be challenging and invigorating as they stretch their mental muscles as they never have before. The College may be one of the best deals in the world and the students should take advantage of all the teaching talent and resources that is available.
