Addict ordered into rehab after probation sentence

An addict was sentenced to two years probation in Magistrates? Court yesterday for having two crack pipes.

Jacqueline Dillas, 41, of Riviera Estate, Southampton, pleaded guilty of possessing drug equipment, namely three charred pipes, a razor, a metal fixture and a metal coil, on Palm Valley, Southampton, on August 3, 2005. Crown counsel Oonagh Vaucrossen said Police responded to a suspected burglary when Dillas was arrested and searched.

A Government analyst tested the seized articles and two of the pipes tested positive for cocaine, she said. Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner said Dillas had other offences which should be heard in Drug Treatment Court. ?In these circumstances what I am going to do is not listen to these other offences,? Mr. Warner said. He sentenced her to two years of conditional probation and must take part in the programmes of the Drug Treatment Court.
