Ag Show will be back in April
After being cancelled in 2004, Environment Minister Neletha Butterfield confirmed on Friday that the Annual Agricultural Exhibition will go ahead next year.
In a ministerial statement in the House of Assembly, Ms Butterfield said that newsletters on the April exhibition have already been sent to all local schools.
The theme ?Come Grow with Us? has been chosen for next year?s event and a catalogue is expected soon.
Ms Butterfield also detailed new additions to the show now called the Annual Exhibition. New categories will include:
Decorated Easter eggs for the pre-schoolers and primary school students.
Bermuda house of wood. Craftsman are invited to build an 18? x 18? x 18? wooden Bermuda home without starter kits.
Hydroponics, a pilot programme geared towards the middle and secondary school students. The Agricultural Group will provide kits for science teachers, who can utilise the products to teach students how to grow spices and aromatic plants in a soil-free environment.

The Annual Exhibition will be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 21, 22 and 23.
?Many of the usual exhibits will be on display including livestock, fruits and vegetables, floriculture, food, woodwork, and educational displays,? said Ms Butterfield.
The Parish Relay Race, which has become a feature in the school calendar, will also go ahead as will the Equestrian Competition and the Junior Art Competition.
