A man pleaded not guilty to a dozen charges of sexual exploitation of minors and five charges of indecent assault in Supreme Court yesterday.

The 51-year-old man, who can not be named for legal reasons, denies the charges relating to incidences with 15 young girls.

While he was required to plead to the charges, no trial date was set for the man who is represented by defence attorney Elizabeth Christopher.

Ms Christopher said she has not yet received full disclosure on the case from the Department of Public Prosecutions.

The man's bail was extended and he is to appear for mention at the July arraignments session.

Also appearing before Chief Justice Austin Ward in Supreme Court was Clifton Hopeton Morrison.

Morrison faces charges of drug importation dating back to February, 1999. He is represented by Victoria Pearman.

A trial date was set for Morrison -- a Jamaican national who has been in custody since his arrival in Bermuda -- who has already faced one full trial and two aborted trials on the drug importation charge. He will face his fourth trial on June 18.

A Spanish speaking man pleaded not guilty to sexual assault through the assistance of a translator.

The man -- who also cannot be named for legal reasons -- is represented by Patrick Doherty. Mr. Doherty asked that the court expedite his trial as the accused is a foreign national being held in custody.

But Director of Public Prosecutions Khamisi Tokunbo told Mr. Justice Ward that the witnesses in the sexual assault case were not local individuals and would have to be brought to Bermuda.

The man is to appear again for mention in the July session.

A 27-year-old Warwick man -- who also cannot be named for legal reasons -- pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under 14 yesterday. He was represented by Larry Mussenden.

Andreas Dengler will face sentencing on June 22 after pleading guilty to charges of forgery, stealing and uttering false documents yesterday. Dengler was represented by Saul Froomkin.

A Devonshire man pleaded not guilty to serious sexual assault causing bodily harm. The incident is alleged to have occurred in December. The 27-year-old man was represented by Larry Mussenden.

The man is to appear for mention again next month.

Shorna Nicoy Brown pleaded not guilty to two drug charges of importation and possession with intent to supply.

Brown is represented by attorney Peter Farge. She is to appear for mention in July and was remanded to custody.

Hubert Nathalston Spence pleaded not guilty to two charges of housebreaking and stealing. Spence will also appear for mention in July and was remanded to custody.

Not appearing for his arraignment was 35-year-old Toronto McDonald Darrell.

Darrell eluded Police for over a week this February after escaping custody when he was to appear in Magistrates' Court on burglary charges.

Chief Justice Ward questioned yesterday why Darrell would have received bail. "He's not here because he doesn't want to be," said Mr. Justice Ward. "He knows the system. I'm surprised people like Mr. Darrell keep getting bail."
