Another tourist has died on Bermuda's roads following an accident near Mulletts Bay in St. Georges.

In a statement last night Police confirmed that Linda Elizabeth Inman, 50, of Illinois died following the accident.

"It appears that Mrs. Inman was travelling west with her husband as a pillion passenger when they came into contact with a bus travelling east. She was taken to KEMH where she was pronounced dead at 5.38. Her husband who was riding the bike is presently in stable condition being treated for his injuries," the statement said. The couple must have lost control of the vehicle, according to the driver of the bus Winston Saunders, .

Mullet Bay area residents Dawn and Jeroma Gibbons reported were among the first on the scene when the accident occurred at around 4:30 p.m.

"I heard a loud bang and called 911," said Dawn Gibbons.

Jeroma Gibbons reported that she arrived on the scene to find Mrs. Inman bleeding through her nose and ears.

"I told the bus driver to check her pulse because she was not moving or anything. She had no pulse when he checked and he had called 911 again and said to hurry up because it looks bad," she said.

The man, believed to have been driving the bike was agitated and concerned about his wife, she continued.

"All I can say is I was coming along the road here and he lost control of the bike and road into the bus," said Mr. Saunders.

"It hasn't really hit me yet, but I don't feel too comfortable about it at all. I heard she passed away but I don't know how true it is. It's stressful ? I can tell you that."

He added that the laws for renting cycles to visitors should be tightened to make the roads safer.

"They ride worse than the locals."

The couple were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Police traffic investigators arrived on the scene shortly after the accident.

Early this month, mother-of-three Rosemary Bigelow, 50, of Malvern, Pennsylvania was fatally injured when her rental scooter hit a tractor trailer on Middle Road as she left Paget Plaza.
