Two women in Al's Laundromat in Pembroke on Tuesday night were subjected to a terrifying ordeal as hooded thieves armed with a knife and lead piping held up the popular business on Brunswick Street.

A 22-year-old Pembroke woman and a 54-year-old lady from Sandys were threatened and robbed by two men of an undisclosed amount of cash, a brown handbag and a cellular phone ? although neither woman was harmed.

The suspects are described as 6ft, while one of the men was wearing a black jacket with black jeans, a blue hat and blue gloves. The other was sporting a dark grey jacket, with blue jeans, a blue hat and blue gloves.

The Royal Gazette visited the laundromat yesterday, but was unable to obtain any comment from the owner, who requested the paper leave the premises.
