A 21-year-old man who broke into a guesthouse armed with a machete and carried out a string of other hotel burglaries will be sentenced at Supreme Court next month.

Jeron Marcus Douglas yesterday pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary at Brightside Guest House, in Flatts, where he stole a waistband bag and its contents on June 11.

He also admitted two counts of robbery, four other burglaries and handling stolen goods.

Supreme Court Three heard that Douglas robbed Anthony Roper of his wallet and its contents on June 1 and took a knapsack and its contents from Veronica Roper the same day.

Between June 1 and 4 he handled a stolen red jacket belonging to Corey Smith. On June 30, he broke into a room at Pink Beach Hotel in Smith?s and stole a bag containing money, jewellery, credit cards and other personal items.

He went back to the same hotel on July 2, broke into a room and took money and a handbag. On July 3, Douglas broke into a room at Grotto Bay Resort, Hamilton parish, and took cash and a wallet.

On July 5, he broke into a property on My Lord?s Bay Lane, Hamilton Parish, with the intent to steal.

Douglas, of My Lord?s Bay Lane, denied three other counts of burglary, one of theft and two of escaping custody and they were left to lie on the file.

Puisne Judge Carlisle Greaves ordered reports prior to sentencing on December 1. He remanded Douglas in custody.

A man accused of breaking into a Court Street restaurant is due to appear at Supreme Court tomorrow.

Brian Carlton Rogers, 45, of North Terrace, Pembroke, is charged with breaking into Island Fried Chicken on January 6, wilfully damaging a cash register and glass door and being found armed with a dangerous or offensive weapon with the intention to break in.

He appeared at Supreme Court Three yesterday and was remanded in custody by Puisne Judge Carlisle Greaves to return for mention tomorrow.
