Blakeney trial set for September 6
The assault trial of Government backbencher and Hott 107.5 FM president Glenn Blakeney has been rescheduled to be held in Magistrates' Court on September 6.
Blakeney, 50, of Stovell Bay Road, Pembroke, has pleaded not guilty to assaulting ZBM news director Gary Moreno at Cup Match 2005.
It was previously reported that the alleged assault included the MP accusing Mr. Moreno of violating Fresh TV's exclusive rights to the 2005 Cup Match game by conducting an interview at the St. George's Cricket clubhouse.
Motorist over the limit
An over-the-limit motorist crashed into two other vehicles before failing a breathalyser test.
Ricky James Foggo, 20, of Smith's Hill Road, pleaded guilty to driving a motorcycle on May 24, with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit of 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood
In Magistrates' Court yesterday Crown counsel Oonagh Vaucrossen said Foggo collided with a pedal cycle and a car on Tommy Fox Road and Cooper's Island Road on the day in question.
An ambulance driver alerted Police to the fact Foggo failed to stop at these collisions at around 7.50 p.m., she said, when Foggo's eyes were glazed and he smelled strongly of alcohol.
Foggo's lowest breathalyser reading was 165 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, she said.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner fined Foggo $300 for failing to stop after an accident, $1,000 for being over the limit and disqualified him from driving all vehicles for 12 months.
