A prison officers meeting led to a truncated arraignments session yesterday.

Edwin Arnold Wolffe, 27, from Spruce Lane, Pembroke, pleaded not guilty to three identical charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on the same man on July 18. He was bailed to reappear on February 2.

Oshane Eugene Darrell, 26, and Jennifer Medeiros, 21, both of Seawall Drive, Sandys, pleaded not guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to supply and possession of drug equipment, namely digital scales on November 22 last year. They were bailed to reappear at the February session.

Karen Irvina Cross, 53, of St John?s Hill, Pembroke, pleaded not guilty to six charges of stealing from six different people while working as a clerk at the British American Insurance Company Ltd. between April 1999 and April 2001.

Nelson Coleridge Vernon Bascome Jr,. the son of former Health Minister Nelson Bascome will appear for sentencing next Tuesday after previously pleading guilty to importing more than $11,000 of cannabis last December.

Lawyer and former politician Julian Sinclair Hall appeared before Acting Chief Justice Norma Wade-Miller yesterday and was bailed to return for mention in February.

Hall of Foothills Road, Devonshire, is alleged to have stolen more than $500,000 from an elderly widow between November 8, 1995 and February 20, 1996.

The trial of a Policeman who earlier pleading not guilty to five sexual offences ? including buggery ? against a child will take place on April 12.

The 35-year-old from Smith?s, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also denies committing an assault causing actual bodily harm, touching a young person in his trust, inviting a young person in his trust to touch him and serious sexual assault.

Shaki Eugene Crockwell 21, of Happy Valley Road, Pembroke, faces sentencing next Friday after previously admitting causing grievous bodily harm to prison officer Craig Clarke in a fight in Front Street on January 1 last year.
