Halsall Associates have completed a physical assessment of the new senior secondary school construction site and is now to submit a report to Government.

Meanwhile assessors for the sacked contractor Pro-Active Management Systems are hard at work conducting their on-site assessment.

Government terminated the $81 million-contract last month claiming that Pro-Active was not going to complete the work by the September 30 deadline.

The decision sparked a dispute between Government and the Bermuda Industrial Union, whose Union Assets Holdings provided a completion bond for the project and set the stage for complicated arbitration hearings to resolve Pro-Active's claims of wrongful termination.

Government had originally planned to have local company Somers Construction conduct an assessment of the site and advise Government on how the stalled project can be completed.

But Government changed its mind and announced that it was bringing in Halsall Associates, a Canadian firm.

And it eventually agreed to give Pro-Active access to the site so that the contractor can conduct its own assessment.

"The assessors have completed a physical, on site assessment and the Ministry of Works and Engineering are awaiting the report," was all the Government Press office would say when asked for an update.

Pro-Active's assessors, de Opplossing, Inc, an Atlanta-based firm, started its work on Monday afternoon and is expected to spend two weeks at the site.
