British Airways has gone against the grain and confirmed an additional flight between the UK and Bermuda every week - despite the war in Iraq.

As many airlines are announcing reductions in their flight networks due to slumping passengers following the Middle East troubles, BA has stuck with its plans to reintroduce its Sunday flight.

From next Sunday, flights leaving Bermuda to the UK will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

District manager Philip Troake said: "Despite the recent outbreak of war in the Middle East and the uncertainty of how that will impact on airlines, we are going ahead with our plans to introduce the fourth weekly service for Bermuda."

Daylight saving time begins in the UK this coming weekend, which affects flights locally.

On Saturday, March 29, the flight to London will depart at 8.35 p.m., arriving in London at 8.10 a.m.. Then, for one week only, from this coming Sunday, March 30 to Saturday, April 5, flights will be leaving Bermuda at the earlier time of 7.15 p.m., arriving in London at 6.55 a.m.

Once daylight saving begins in Bermuda, flights from April 6 will depart at 8.15 p.m., arriving in London at 6.55 a.m.
