Twenty-six-year-old Anthony Hayward was fined $300 in Magistrates Court yesterday for stealing a bottle of Smirnoff Vodka from the Lindo?s grocery story on Middle Road, Warwick.

Employees at the store saw Hayward stuff the liquor down the front of his pants and detained him until Police arrived.

Hayward told Magistrate Khamisi Tukunbo: ?I didn?t mean to take it. I get dopey some days?

Mr. Tukonbo replied: ?So you get dopey some days and you stole a $10.45 bottle of vodka? Well being dopey is going to cost you $300.? Hayward was also ordered to immediately pay an outstanding $80 fine.
