A seven-month-old baby was locked inside his mother's car on Thursday outside Wee Care Paediatrics on Elliott Street.

The mother said that she accidentally locked her keys inside her car while her son was in the back seat.

He was locked in for about 15 minutes before a locksmith came and opened the door.

The child was taken to the doctor for examination and was fine.

Jewellery was stolen from a Happy Valley, Devonshire home sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday.

A thick gold chain, about 34 inches long with a a Virgin Mary pendant on it and a red stone in the middle, was stolen, along with two other 16 inch gold chains - one with eight diamonds and the other with a lion head ring attached with red stones for the eyes.

There will be strong Police presence in the East E tonight for two concerts.
