A 16-year old from Devonshire was stabbed early Saturday morning after attending the Lil' Kim concert in St. George's.

Police were called to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital at 2.05 after they received a report of the stabbing on Saturday morning.

The Officers spoke with a young man who had earlier attended the Lil' Kim concert at Kindley Field in St. George's and he said he was on his way to his friends car after leaving the concert.

As he walked to his friend's car he said he felt a sharp pain on the left side of his back. Another friend took him on an auxiliary cycle and on arrival at the hospital the young man was treated for a two-inch stab wound and was discharged from the hospital yesterday.

The suspect in question for the incident is described as light-skinned male wearing a blue and white baseball cap.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident and any one with information should call Eastern C.I.D at 297-1122.

A raucous early morning brawl ended with six arrests and two Police officers treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Police were on Front Street around 3.45 a.m. monitoring patrons as they left the area's establishments.

A man, leaving the Emporium Building, was overheard using offensive words towards a female. When Police warned him about his language he persisted and began to use offensive language towards the Officer who then told him he was being arrested for using the crude language.

In attempts to arrest the man a cop was hit in the head and a hostile crowd gathered around the scene in attempts to prevent Police from further arresting people.

During the melee a policeman was punched in the head along and another was punched in the head and kicked in the chest and face.

After containing the situation Police arrested six people ranging from age 18 to 24 including five males and one female for assault and obstruction of Police.

Later that morning two people a male and a female, were cautioned and released. The two officers were treated at KEMH for their injuries but were later released.

A 46-year old Devonshire man's body was found at a Rosemont Avenue guesthouse in Pembroke on Friday.

Police were called to the Pembroke guesthouse and were met by EMT personnel who identified the Devonshire man.

Investigation concerning the cause of death is underway - but it is thought the man died of natural causes.

A driver stopped by Police for speeding ended up in court on a charge of cannabis possession.

A Police report said that Renekco Edwards from Cobb's Hill Road in Paget was speeding in a blue Volkswagen when they were patrolling near the Hitching Post in Sandys on March 15.

Edwards, 20, was arrested after a Police dog nudged out plant-like material in a plastic twist out from under his seat in the car. A Police lab later reported that the substance was 1.99 grams of cannabis, and Edwards was convicted yesterday after he admitted it was his.

He had no previous drug convictions, but Crown Counsel Charmaine Smith said he was known to the courts for other matters. Acting Senior Magistrate William Francis fined Edwards $250 payable by tomorrow, or 14 days in prison.
