The Warwick woman who threatened to bomb the Cabinet Office, the Department of Immigration and assassinate the Governor will be sentenced on July 17.

Glennea Michelle Grant, 25, pleaded guilty on June 12 to using threatening language and attempting to pervert the course of justice when she sent a threatening letter to the Cabinet Office on December 13, 2002.

She was remanded in custody while a social inquiry report was prepared. Yesterday Acting Senior Magistrate Will Francis learned that the report was completed.

A social inquiry report has been ordered on a Pembroke teenager who stole a bottle of rum from a MarketPlace grocery story.

Sixteen-year-old Dejaun Mitchell DeShield admitted the offence when he appeared at Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Prosecutor Koshea Scott said DeShield entered the Hamilton store around 8.50 a.m. on May 29 and was seen acting suspiciously by an employee, who alerted the manager.

DeShield paid for a soda before leaving the store. The manager, however, brought him back to the store and a bottle of Bacardi Gold Rum, priced at $19.60, was found in his backpack.

DeShield did not have a receipt for the liquor and was arrested by Police.

Acting Senior Magistrate Will Francis set bail at $500 with surety and ordered a social inquiry report.

DeShield will re-appear for sentencing on August 13.

A cricketer was hit for a six when he discovered his gear had been stolen.

He returned to his Smith's home on Sunday after a cricket match and left his sports bag on the porch.

The bag - containing two cricket bats, a pair of batting pads, two pairs of gloves and two pair of boots - went missing sometime yesterday. The cricketer searched his home in Cherry Dale, Knapton Hill, and the surrounding area without success.

A Southampton man pleaded not guilty yesterday to stealing ferry equipment worth over $2,000.

Freeman James Smith, 34, was charged with stealing a ferry lock box belonging to the Department of Marine and Ports. It was valued at $2,004.30. The alleged offence occurred on July 7, Magistrates' Court heard.

Acting Senior Magistrate Will Francis set Smith's bail at $1,000.

Smith will reappear for trial on September 23.

A St. George's resident was given a lesson in punctuality when Acting Senior Magistrate Will Francis made him pay $300 of his bail.

Wayne Fox, 57, charged with speeding at 90 kph on St. David's Road, St. George's in April, missed his court appearance on Tuesday.

Fox said he left St. David's on time, making allowance for traffic, but still failed to arrive at 9 a.m. He was ordered to pay three-fifths of his original bail and Mr. Francis posted a new bail of $750. Fox will appear for trial on July 28.
