A pseudosphinx tetrio or ‘Frangipani caterpillar’ crawls on the branches of a frangipani tree. The unusual species of caterpillar was first reported in Bermuda in 1940 and most likely was introduced on an imported frangipani tree. The four-and-a-half inch long caterpillar has an appetite to match its size, eating up to three large leaves per day. Photo by Mark Tatem
