The teen involved in horror road smash at the weekend is still in a critical condition in a Boston hospital.

The 16-year-old, from St. George's, suffered burns over 90 percent of his body after crashing on Spanish Point Road on Saturday lunchtime. He is still fighting for his life following surgery on Monday after being airlifted on Sunday.

Police have said there was no evidence a dangerous home-made fuel concoction was to blame for that bike fire or other recent moped blazes.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, which took place at about 12.20 p.m., to contact Acting Sgt. Andrew Exell on 299-4302
