Bishop invites residents to pray against war

The Anglican Bishop of Bermuda, Ewen Ratteray has joined with other Christian leaders worldwide and invited people concerned about the growing war clouds, to pray this afternoon for peace.

When contacted yesterday, Bishop Ratteray, said 3 p.m. today had been chosen because of the numerical confluence of today being the third day of the third month of the third year of the new millennium.

He said: "I got an invitation by a group of Christians who are trying to mobilise against war with Iraq. People are being encouraged to pray wherever they are at 3 p.m. It is to pray for peace, that's all."

Bishop Ratteray said people are welcome to pray in the Bermuda Cathedral.
