Blaze may have been arson
A blaze that destroyed part of a Somerset apartment is being investigated as a possible arson attack.
It took firefighters almost half an hour to extinguish the flames in a bedroom of the home in Scott?s Hill Road on Monday night.
Fire Service spokesman Lt. Dana Lovell told that arson had not been ruled out as a possible cause.
He said: ?All persons were evacuated from the premises prior to our arrival and no one was hurt. We had four vehicles attend the incident and ten firefighters that dealt with it.?
Lieut. Lovell said that when the first unit arrived on scene from Port Royal the fire was already well ablaze in the three-bedroom apartment.
?The firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the structure and extinguished the fire within 25 minutes,? he said. ?Then we remained on scene for approximately one hour after that, just wetting down, pulling out smouldering embers and the fire was declared all out some six minutes after that.?
