Breaking News: Girlfriend tells of attack by murder-accused

The girlfriend of Nicholas Dill continued emotional testimony this morning about how Andre Hypolite allegedly stabbed him in the back and chopped her in the head.

Stacey Pike first took the witness stand at Supreme Court yesterday, and began detailing how a drug-fuelled sex session between her, Mr. Dill and Hypolite turned violent on Boxing Day 2004.

She claimed that Hypolite knifed Mr. Dill in the back after he backed out of performing a sex act on him. She also described how she went to grab a machete from the corner of the bedroom they were in, while Hypolite hit her in the head with a knife, then threw a large television set at her.

Continuing her narrative this morning, she told the jury that Mr. Dill next swung a pipe at Hypolite. She then demonstrated how she swung the machete at the defendant.

“When I swung it, I just about hit him. I know it landed on his body. It hit him. I dropped it and I dropped – I fell,” she said.

Hypolite denies murdering Mr. Dill, 43, and wounding Ms Pike, now 37, with intent to cause her grievous bodily harm. The case is set to continue with more evidence from Ms Pike this afternoon.
