Works and Engineering employees launched industrial action today at the Tyne’s Bay and Marsh Folly refuse sites after two workers were fired.
The union is now in talks with management about the sackings.
Bermuda Industrial Union president Chris Furbert said: “Two workers were dismissed — one from Tyne’s Bay and one from Marsh Folly.”
Mr. Furbert could not say what had led to the firings until he had been fully briefed.
He added: “I don’t think any work is being done now, I think Tynes Bay has stopped and I think Marsh Folly has also stopped.”
