Breaking News: Inflation at 2.6 percent

The rate of inflation was measured at 2.6 percent in June — a drop of 0.2 percent on the previous month, figures released this morning show.

The Consumer Price Index showed the health and personal care sector was the largest contributor to the inflation rate – on average, the cost of health and personal care items increased by 8.6 percent year-over-year.

Transport and vehicle and rent sectors also impacted strongly on the annual rate of inflation, as price shifts in these sectors were 4.2 percent and 1.2 percent, respectively.
