Police today named a tourist who died while snorkelling off Pompano Beach Club as Juergen Ausborn, a 66-year-old American visitor to the Island.
It appears Mr. Ausborn got into difficulty while swimming in the waters off the Southampton club on Sunday.
A Police spokesman said: “As a result he became unresponsive and despite receiving CPR at the scene, was pronounced dead on arrival at the King Edward VII Memrial Hospital by an on-call physician.
“An autopsy is anticipated. The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the members of the public who came to the aid of the victim and also extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.”
