Around 6,000 homes and businesses in the western parishes were left without power this morning when a Belco engine tripped at 8.27 a.m.
All customers living west of the Belmont area were affected by the problem that occurred in the east power station at Belco's Pembroke headquarters.
As of 9.45 a.m., all but 700 homes had their power back on.
A Belco spokeswoman said they should be back online "very shortly".
