Britain has yet to select a replacement for Baroness Amos the former Minister for the Overseas Territories. In the meantime, Dennis McShane, Minister of State in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office is filling in, says Department head Alan Huckle.

"It has been decided that Dr. Dennis McShane, who is one of our existing officers in the Foreign Office should take over from Baroness Amos' duties as it relates to the Overseas Territories. We are assuming there will be a ministerial shuffle but that's up to the Prime Minister," Mr. Huckle told The Royal Gazette yesterday.

Baroness Amos became the first black woman senior Minister in the British Government when she was selected to replace Clare Short who resigned her position as Secretary of State for International Development May 12.
