A decision on whether broadcast regulations were breached when the Premier addressed the nation in February may come as early as next week.

Broadcast Commission chairman Tim Marshall yesterday said that the Commission had requested additional information and would be meeting today.

He would not divulge any details, saying the hearing is not open to the public.

"Once that (information) is received, that would be the end of our deliberations and a decision will be rendered," he said.

In late February, Premier Jennifer Smith made an address to the nation and called for national solidarity.

The Opposition United Bermuda Party questioned whether it was a political broadcast, paid for by the taxpayers, and made a formal complaint to the Broadcast Commission which adjudicates such matters.
