Broadcaster Ashfield DeVent is best known as court correspondent for VSB and the former co-host of Night Talk.

The 46-year-old was the newest MP in the House of Assembly when he comfortably won Pembroke East Central for the Progressive Labour Party last year.

He spent 14 years at Cable & Wireless, eventually becoming Network management supervisor ensuring quality on the international telephone network.

As an adult student at Bermuda College, he took classes in political science, psychology, philosophy and sociology.

Mr. DeVent represented southern countries on the United Nations sustainable development commission, with emphasis on science and technology.

After attending Prospect Primary School and Warwick Academy, he went to the Cable & Wireless Engineering College in Cornwall, England.

A member of the Friswells Hill United group, Mr. De Vent has a strong interest in social issues and lives in the heart of his constituency in Angle Street.

United Bermuda Party candidate Lawrence (Rocky) Fox is corporate sales manager at Elbow Beach Hotel.

Mr. Fox, who lives in Texas Road, St. David's, received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Hotel and Restaurant Management School at Norfolk State University.

After university, Mr. Fox went work at the former Marriott's Castle Harbour Resort, where he eventually became Conference Services Manager.

Mr. Fox is married to Lisa and they have two children, Rachel, 8, and Lawrence, 6.
