Work on the new Central Bus Terminal will begin in earnest within the next few days, the Ministry of Transport said yesterday.

And the Ministry, the Public Transportation Board (PTB) and the Corporation of Hamilton apologised for any inconvenience caused during the transitional move of the bus terminal.

"Members of the public are encouraged to be mindful that the temporary bus terminal, which includes a token and ticket booth, is located on the western side of City Hall (near the City Hall parking lot) while the old terminal undergoes refurbishment," a statement from the Ministry said yesterday.

"The public is advised that over the course of the next few days, construction on the new central bus terminal will begin in earnest, and as a result motorists and pedestrians are asked to refrain from the vicinity of the old Washington Street terminal."

Also, 100 additional cycle parking bays have been located behind City Hall near Victoria Street.
