Busy weekend for break-ins
While locals and tourists alike were preparing for the Queen's Birthday holiday, thieves were busy with a number of break-ins reported over the weekend.
Sometime during the evening hours of Friday, a residence on Harbour Road in Paget was broken into. The thief entered through what was believed to be an insecure door. While inside the culprit stole a wallet from a dresser. However, the theft was not discovered until the following morning.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, a car parked on South Shore Road in Warwick was broken into with the owner reporting to Police that the car was left unlocked. The thief entered the car and removed a Toshiba laptop computer from the vehicle.
Police have also learned of the theft of cash from a house on Spice Hill Road in Warwick on Monday. The unknown culprit broke in and ransacked several drawers removing cash from one location and some coins from another.
