CableVision workers set for pay increase

CableVision workers are set for a 4.5 percent pay rise while newly-instituted shift work will allow more flexible hours for maintenance visits to customers' homes.

The three-year pay deal was settled after two-days of arbitration but Bermuda CableVision Operations Manager Alan Smith said the panel's decision has yet to be finalised in the written collective bargaining agreement.

He said: "We can confirm that an arbitration panel has elected to increase the salary of CableVision employees by 4.5 percent.

"We are pleased that the panel has also agreed to shift work for our employees as this will enable us to offer extended hours for visits to customers' homes in the future."

A Government press release said there had also been agreement on stand-by pay and training.
