California woman drops complaint against Police

A California woman who last month claimed she was discriminated against and "interrogated" by a Police officer at the Bermuda International Airport has decided not to file a formal complaint.

Ms Turman and her daughter arrived in Bermuda in July for a week-long holiday and spent close to an hour being questioned and searched by a female Police officer.

Speaking from her home in California this week, Ms Turman said she did not think it was worth filing a formal complaint.

"I just want it to die down," she said.

Ms Turman sent an e-mail to the Police Service stating that she no longer wanted to pursue the matter after receiving a letter asking her if she wanted to file a complaint.

She said that she still wanted to return to Bermuda for a future holiday, adding that she hoped the Police officer in question "learned her lesson".
