Cancer charity?s signs vandalised

The president of cancer support group PALS has voiced disgust over two incidents of vandalism which took place at the charity?s headquarters on Point Finger Road in Paget.

Speaking toyesterday, Ann Smith Gordon said vandals had tore down a PALS road sign some time over the weekend and threw it in some nearby bushes while a 15-foot banner on the property?s upper balcony was stolen.

The Police have been notified and are reportedly investigating ? but the two incidents have left Mrs. Smith Gordon with a bitter taste in her mouth.

?I just cannot understand it,? she said. ?Why anybody would want to do this to a charity which tries to do good is beyond me.

?We at PALS are all shocked and disappointed that anybody would even think about doing such things. How on earth they got up to the balcony to steal the banner I don?t know but the whole thing has left me angry.

?What is happening to our Island? How can people do such things? We?ve asked the neighbours whether they saw anybody acting suspiciously in the area but nobody saw anything.?
