Three men have been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed last week.

Twins Jeron Marcus Douglas and Jevon Marco Douglas, 19, of My Lord?s Bay Lane, Hamilton Parish were charged with the attempted murder of Tariq White when they appeared in Magistrates? Court yesterday.

Niedel Kevon Swan, 20, of Crawl Point Lane- West, Hamilton Parish, was also charged with the same offence.

In addition, Swan was charged with an unrelated incident yesterday. He denied unlawfully assaulting a woman and causing her bodily harm on October 9. Swan was given a trial date for December 13 and remanded in custody.

Police have been appealing for witnesses over the last few days after finding Mr. White bleeding profusely outside of Dub City Variety last Wednesday morning.

The twins and Swan were also charged with possession of an offensive weapon (a machete).

The three men were not asked to plea yesterday because the charges are indictable. They will be sent to Supreme Court.

Senior Crown counsel Juan Wolffe told the court that the alleged incident happened between October 5 and 6.

Mr. Wolffe objected to bail and said that Mr. White sustained severe injuries to his eye and several wounds about his head and body. He added that the Police were looking for a fourth man in connection with the incident.

Defence lawyer Mark Pettingill appeared for the brothers and Swan.

Magistrate Archie Warner remanded the three until mention on October 26.

After Mr. Warner?s decision Jevon Douglas told the court that he has witnesses that will place him at his house at the time of the incident.

He said to Mr. Warner: ?I?m only 19. Now you are going to put me in with a bunch of criminal minded people ? how do you expect me to come out?

?I ain?t trying to sit in jail for something I did not do.?

Douglas added that Mr. White was his cousin his ?own flesh and blood? and that he would not have cut him up.
