Members of the AME churches are planning to gather for a time of reflection and prayer on Friday night, social action committee chairman Rev. Wilbur Lowe told The Royal Gazette.

"The AME church is very concerned about the violence that is moving across the Island," he said. "So we are presenting ourselves to prayer and fasting to invoke the presence of the Lord in the lives of all people."

The church is inviting the public as well as church members of all denominations to meet at St. Paul's Church on Court Street at 7.30 p.m. Then, Rev. Lowe said, they intend to march to various areas in the City which they felt are in need of prayer.

"It is a sort of continuation of the march in Hamilton Parish on Saturday night," he said. "We are going to let the community know that the church is here to help and assist our adults and young people."
