After an extensive search, the US Coast Guard has stopped looking for a vessel reportedly sinking off Bermuda's waters, a Harbour Radio spokesman told The Royal Gazette yesterday.
Just before 2 a.m. on Friday, crew aboard the Aristidis sent a distress call to the LPG York and said the vessel was sinking. At the time of the call, the Aristidis was about 790 miles east-northeast of the Island.
Both water and air searches were conducted over the weekend, but was no sign of the vessel.
"The US Coast Guard has suspended the search pending further investigation. Nothing has been found," the Harbour Radio spokesman said.
