A partnership with the Bermuda College and an overseas Canadian university has celebrated the opening of a new building aimed at connecting its students to the future.

Yesterday saw college officials cut the ribbon to the Mount St. Vincent Bachelor of Business Administration Centre hailing an already two year relationship between the two institutions.

According to a Bermuda College spokeswoman, the centre, complete with computers and teleconference equipment will serve as the home base for 41 students currently enrolled in the Bachelor's of Business Administration degree.

Duranda Greene, Dean of the Faculty of Hotel and Business Administration said: "This is a true milestone in the history of our faculty and for Bermuda College."

The degree programme first admitted students in August 2000, and it allows students who have completed a minimum of 15 courses in core business subjects to obtain their degree without leaving Bermuda.

Courses at the centre will be taught by local faculty or through a combination of teleconferencing and live online sessions with professors in Canada.
