A VSB news story claiming disgruntled staff were threatening a sit-in at Bermuda College is wrong, the College said yesterday.

College spokeswoman Evelyn James Barnett said it was the second time in four months the College had to correct what it called "false reports" from VSB.

The station did not seek to the clarify the facts, she alleged, when it broadcast the story on Monday and Tuesday.

"The College has moved away from the period of unrest that for a long time overshadowed the good and the positive that was being achieved here," said the College statement.

"Staff morale and public confidence have grown significantly, and we expect it to continue, but stories such as these which take pains to `hint at' without attributing to a source, and that lack the effort required to verify the facts, can do a great deal of damage."
